This is me trying to get all the units that hardly ever see the light of day any more into one list. I doubt it's going to win, but I think it would actually be kinda fun to play.

I like it. I think the Grav-cannon tacticals would work well for most chapters (since you don't have built in re-rolls to make your plasma "safer"). I also think BA jump company-champ could do work (nice discount beat-stick). Tactical terminators are still pretty tough to recommend (though +1 to wound powerfists is fun).

Some people apparently swear by grav (still) in 8th. <shrug>

I think if played right, Termies can have localized superiority.

Question is: which is worse, the Vindicator or the Baal Pred?

Both? As a dakka-box the Baal predator is overshadowed by so many better options. The vindicator also really got screwed over in the transition to 8th. Str 10 really isn't that big a deal anymore, and d3 shots at 24 inches is hard to like.

Ok, this is a slightly more serious (it's still shooty-Terminator heavy...) version of the idea above.

T is for "Terminators" because they terminate the Emperor's foes with extreme predjudice

I think the above is a sneakily potent force. There's actually quite a bit of S4 dakka going on that weight of fire should be able to deal with the usual bane of elite units: hordes. And with even dakka Terminators packing power fists, this list should be able to do serious work against even heavier foes.

...but it would really suck to face vehicle-heavy Tau/Eldar lists that can simply fly away and shoot some more. The classic problem of relying on footslogging melee units for AT.

I have a lot of experience with "how to surprise people with really silly themed armies." Basically, look at what your theme inevitably skews you towards, and dedicate a third of your points value to shoring up that weakness. So rather than running 1400pts of terminators, I would run 1400pts of terminators+600pts of something else and make it a 2k list. It's what I do with my grots and my storm guardian eldar.

In this instance, IMO your weakness is reliably taking down anti-tank units that threaten your terminators before you're able to break through the screen, and what to do with the half of your force that can't deep strike.

My personal recommendation would be to lean into the spin and take at least one Land Raider. with a handful of lascannon shots with re-rolls turn 1 you can select one enemy vehicle to nope away, possibly two. You for sure want to have a Chaplain in the mix to give +2" to charge, since you won't have burning descent, or Cps to use any stratagems really. Banner of Sacrifice seems like an autoinclude to shore up your weakness to D2 weaponry. Shield of Sanguinius and Awaken Rage on the librarian means he can shield the land raider turn 1 and unleash on some termies turn 2.

It's theoretically possible that you can get turn 2 and an opponent can blow away a Land Raider squatting in cover, but they're fairly tough if they've got a 1+ save. 21 BS3+ lascannons to take one out with average rolls - and most other antitank weapons have a much harder time with T8 since they tend to be strength 8.
Game Preferences:
A model may assault upper levels of terrain if they charge far enough to climb them
All current beta rules in effect unless opponent prefers otherwise
I love setting up custom, fluffy scenarios, PM me!

A LT and a Chaplain will go along way for you. The chaplain can give a +2" to charge distance, but needs to be on the table for the beginning of the battle round. Some troops to assist in a battalion for extra CP which can really help. This list appears on paper to be very drop heavy, so the troops will help put bodies on the table for tactical reserve rules.

Thanks for responces, guys.

I got a landraider crusader with idea to transport more than one squad of termies, but possibly with an ancient for hit rerolls and chaplain for charge aid. Is it worth it to get a devastator squad, dread with lascanons or maybe even a stormraven to take down antitank?

Right now with the stuff i have built / painted I am planning to use BA termies as vanguard detach of 2 assault termies with ancient, chaplain and librarian along side the regular primaris batalion, so primaris can hold the line while termies deepstrike from behind the enemy lines. Eventually it would be cool to have a separate BA fluffy list at 2k tho

Can you still use doctrines if you run ultramarines with BA detachment? I know scions of gulliman stops if any non ultramarine forces are in the army

Yes to all of those things re: Anti-tank. Stormraven is the priciest thing there so I would argue not that since if it gets taken out Turn 1 in your opponent's turn it's gonna be a major problem for you. Dev Squad and Dreadnought with Lascannons and/or Missile Launcher is fine though.
