Space Marine FAQ

Postby Draaen » Thu Feb 27, 2020 10:09 am

Seems like a nice laser focused change. Not being able to hang out in your doctrine of choice for the whole game is an interesting balancing point. It will certainly adjust how to look at them competitively speaking. No changes for my white scars though.

Doctrines changed so 1 turn max on devastator doctrine, 1-2 turns on tactical and then you stay in assault for the remainder of the game. Remove the stratagem to move back

Duty eternal changed to reduce damage by 1 and not cumulative with anything else.

These changes were pretty much for tournament players and my Iron Hands. Completely understandable and needed changes.

I wouldn't worry, marines are still really good, better for marines players as well since no one can say we're OP anymore. I'm saying this as a space wolves player, mind you.

Well that's true, but I was riding on 11" flamers with devastator doctrine had a full veterans squad for it and everything as well as all that juicy bolter range... 30" lol

Well, stuff them in a drop pod and have them show up turn 1 :D

Turn 2, as long as your opponent isn't playing a total gunline, you probably have enough stuff within 24" that switching to tactical would be a better move anyway as it does increase your damage.
Game Preferences:
A model may assault upper levels of terrain if they charge far enough to climb them
All current beta rules in effect unless opponent prefers otherwise
I love setting up custom, fluffy scenarios, PM me!

Fair point, actually that was the plan, with an assault squad also crammed in too!
